Accident at Iowa amusement park that killed child is second fatality on ride in five years
Authorities are investigating the cause of an accident that killed a boy on a popular boat ride at an Iowa amusement park on July 3, the second deadly incident on the ride, which uses a conveyor belt to move rafts through faux river rapids, in five years. After the boat overturned, emergency responders and witnesses freed the riders, and four were hospitalized. The Iowa Division of Labor is responsible for conducting safety inspections of amusement rides at least once a year. CNBC
