
Guatemalan immigrant shot as she tried to enter house she thought was a model home
- The man who shot and killed 32-year-old housecleaner Maria Florinda Rios Perez had previously called the police for what he said were “suspicious activities” at his house.
- Rios Perez was killed when she and her husband mistakenly tried to enter the Whitestown, Indiana, residence, to clean what they thought was a model home.
- Police have said that the previous reports by Curt Anderson, 62, were unfounded. Neighbors say he was “paranoid about the world” and crime.
- Anderson was arrested and has been booked for suspicion of voluntary manslaughter. Rios Perez leaves behind a husband and children.

Federal grants for mine safety training
