Following struck-by accident, Georgia farm fined $128K
Fed-OSHA has fined a Georgia farm more than $128,000 after an employee suffered fatal injuries at a post-harvest operations facility in Fort Valley. The agency charges the employer exposed employees to struck-by hazards after investigators determined an employee, who was performing maintenance on a conveyor system, was caught between the load on a forklift and a metal railing. OR-OSHA fines employer more than $27K following furnace explosion
Oregon OSHA last week handed down $27,500 in penalties in connection with a titanium furnace explosion last August that severely burned one employee and threw another about six feet into a table, in addition to damaging the building’s roof.
