OVERVIEW

Under the administrative direction of the Director of Administrative Services, this pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of WVWD’s facilities and team members. As a Safety Officer, you will oversee essential areas including workers’ compensation, security, training, safety/environmental management, and emergency management. This position demands a proactive approach to maintaining compliance with state and federal occupational safety and health standards, while also driving safety programming initiatives to foster a secure working environment.

In this role, you will facilitate comprehensive safety trainings, conduct ergonomic evaluations, meticulously document safety protocols, manage risk and insurance claims, and collaborate closely with ACWA/JPIA risk management staff. Your expertise in emergency response planning and training will ensure WVWD is fully prepared to handle any situational disaster, effectively supporting the needs of both our team and the communities we serve. Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager oversees occupational, environmental health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include driving safety improvements through data-driven strategies, managing regulatory compliance with agencies like FTA and OSHA, conducting investigations, and implementing safety training and awareness programs. Security & Safety Specialist
