Full-Time CAL OSHA Gas Tester / Tunnel Safety Representative

Lafayette, California

We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated CAL OSHA Gas Tester / Tunnel Safety Representative to join our team full-time for tunnel and underground utility projects in the Lafayette area.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform atmospheric gas testing and monitoring in tunnel environments
  • Ensure compliance with CAL OSHA tunnel safety regulations
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain safety documentation
  • Monitor confined space entry procedures
  • Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, and project management
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions on site
  • Assist in implementing site-specific safety plans and emergency procedures

Qualifications

  • Current CAL OSHA Gas Tester and/or Tunnel Safety certification required
  • Experience working in tunneling, underground utilities, mining, or confined space environments
  • Strong knowledge of tunnel safety standards and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work in the field and communicate effectively with crews
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
