We Are Looking For:

An Industrial Hygienist to apply professional knowledge or expertise in one or more specialty areas within EH&S and serves as the lead person on one or more program(s) within a single discipline. The position will primarily oversee the campus asbestos and lead programs, as well as other EH&S Industrial Hygiene programs. Reviews completed work to ensure pre-determined objectives are adequately met and that application of professional/technical judgment is sound. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Provides regulatory interpretation, technical advice and make decisions based on established procedures, relevant laws, regulations, organizational policy, professional best practices, relevant science methodology, other EH&S programs, and senior management approvals as required. Decisions may affect individual work, other EH&S programs, other departments and/or segments of the organization. 

What You Will Bring to This Position (Required):

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a State of California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Asbestos Consultant and Site Surveillance Technician
  • 3 years’ experience in the field of Industrial Hygiene
  • State of California Asbestos Building Inspector Course Certificate
  • State of California Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Course Certificate
  • State of California OHS Certified Lead in Construction Supervisor/Risk Assessor/Designer
  • State of California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Asbestos Consultant and Site Surveillance Technician
  • Thorough knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting applicable local, state, and federal regulations and related standards and guidelines
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize and manage the successful completion of projects within time and budget constraints
  • Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and skill to communicate effectively in a diverse environment at all audience levels

Forensic Safety Specialist

Semper Scientific is seeking a Forensic Safety Specialist for our southern California office. Our forensic experts conduct reconstruction of accidents and premises safety analyses for clients in the legal community. This position involves assisting testifying experts with the review of case-related materials, research and analysis of building records including determining compliance with building and safety regulations, and conducting on-site inspections/investigations. Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from college with specialization in engineering or safety
  • Two to three years of professional engineering or safety experience

Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range: $100,000 to $200,000/yr. (commensurate with experience)

Senior Safety Engineer – Cal/OSHA Research and Standards Health Unit
