Contra Costa Water District has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in the Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and demonstrate a track record of successfully implementing safety initiatives. This position will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of a wide-variety of safety programs and conduct safety training. Responsibilities also include supporting the site safety committees, conducting field inspections to confirm adherence with safety programs, providing support for inspectors and auditors during inspections and other support tasks. The individual selected for this position will be a regular-status employee and entitled to all terms and conditions of employment as specified in the IFPTE, Local 21 MOU.

Compliance Supervisor – Apex Logistics LLC – Inland Empire Location
Under the direction of Risk Management Director ensures that all business units are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Tracks laws and regulations that may affect the organization’s policies. Assess and develop programs to maintain compliance with various regulatory agencies to include Federal and state OSHA, MSHA and environmental agencies. Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed. File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies and customers. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and 5 years work experience in the safety and compliance fields. Familiar with field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must have an aptitude to read and understand government regulations and develop programs to attain compliance in all business units in the companies.
