We’re Hiring: Field Safety Representative (Owner’s Rep)
PRO-TEC Safety Consultants Inc. is currently accepting applications to support construction oversight on the BART Silicon Valley Phase II Project in San Jose, CA.
This position represents the Owner’s interests in the field, focusing on safety oversight, compliance monitoring, and documentation for a large-scale heavy civil transit project.
The Details
- Location: San Jose, CA
- Shift: Swing Shift / Night Shift
- Duration: Minimum 6-month assignment (potential for extension based on project needs and performance)
- Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience

Position Overview
The Field Safety Representative serves as an on-site safety oversight professional, observing contractor activities and verifying compliance with project safety requirements, regulatory standards, and Owner expectations. This is strictly an oversight role and does not direct contractor means or methods.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience (large infrastructure or transportation projects preferred).
- Certification: STSC or CHST required.
- Communication: Strong written skills for safety observations, reports, and formal correspondence.
- Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Attributes: Professional, objective, and capable of maintaining independence in an active construction environment.
