Employee killed at Kentucky plastics plant
A 63-year-old man died last week after an accident involving an injection molding machine at a plastics plant near Lexington, Kentucky. The employee reportedly shut off the press, engaged the safety bolts, and climbed inside the machinery after it became stuck, but the one of the bolts reportedly broke, causing the machinery to come down on him. Fines appealed after nitrogen kills 6 at Georgia plant
Three of four companies are appealing federal workplace safety fines following a liquid nitrogen leak in a freezer line that killed six workers at a Georgia poultry processing plant in late January.
