MNOSHA investigating death of company owner in construction accident
A company owner who was gravely injured more than a week ago while working in downtown Stillwater, Minnesota died in the hospital, on 55th birthday, a week ago Saturday. He was using a high-powered vacuum hose to suck dirt from a large hole on a construction site immediately prior to the accident, according to police, but cause and manner of death had not been determined as of late last week. Wisconsin contractor cited for exposing employees to deadly fall hazards

A federal administrative law judge has ordered the owner of a Bergen County, New Jersey framing company to pay more than $2 million in penalties assessed by Fed-OSHA for 30 cited violations. Agency finds no toxic waste in Atlanta middle school’s soils
The Environmental Protection Agency found no toxic pollutants in the soils of a middle school during its preliminary investigation into the spread of hazardous waste from a nearby scrap metal processing plant, an agency spokeswoman has confirmed; however, the EPA has plans for further testing in the surrounding neighborhood, including air testing. After refuting employee claims that they were being exposed to a toxic chemical that gave them serious respiratory issues, a poultry company was fined last week by the North Carolina Department of Labor for allegedly failing to provide employees with effective information and training regarding the use of a corrosive chemical that can cause severe skin burns, eye damage, and respiratory irritation.
