OSHA seeks $1 million+ in penalties following New Jersey fatality

  • The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a New Jersey vegetable processing company for “willfully and repeatedly” violating safety standards.
  • The agency began an investigation in May 2025 after receiving a report of a fatality at Taylor Farms New Jersey in Swedesboro
  • The fatality allegedly occurred due to improper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • OSHA cited Taylor Farms for 16 alleged violations and proposed penalties of $1,125.484. A temporary employment agency also was cited in the incident.
