U.S. Attorney Offers Support to RFK Jr. Move on NIOSH Cuts Lawsuit
- The acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia has filed a letter supporting a motion by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s to dismiss a lawsuit over cuts at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
- On May 13, U.S. District Court Judge Irene Berger granted an injunction in the case, halting the layoffs and giving the federal government 20 days to certify that all of the affected NIOSH programs and jobs were reinstated.

Probes Conclude Boston Hospital Workplace Not Cause of Nurses’ Tumors
- Boston-area Newton-Wellesley Hospital said that two additional reports in an ongoing investigation into brain tumors among labor and delivery nurses found no link to the hospital environment.
- In recent months, the hospital has reported that seven current and former staff members at Newton-Wellesley Hospital have been diagnosed with non-cancerous brain tumors after working on the fifth-floor maternity unit.
- In April, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Occupational Health Service accompanied personnel from federal OSHA during a visit to observe the working conditions at the hospital.
