Heat Stress Rule Under White House Review

OSHA’s proposed federal rule protecting indoor and outdoor workers from heat stress is now under review by the Biden Administration, however, details have not been made public.
Reportedly under development since 2021, OSHA’s national heat stress standard is being reviewed by the White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, though no deadline has been set.
OSHA has previously said protection mandates take effect any time the heat index hits 80 degrees.
Once the White House completes its review, OSHA will publish the proposal for a public comment, followed by another review.
It could be in place for summer 2025.
