Several Idaho farmworkers involved in a Memorial Day incident that sent more than a dozen of them to Parma-area emergency rooms for suspected pesticide exposure are speaking out about the incident for the first time. State agriculture officials were unable to conclusively determine the source of the workers’ sickness, but sent a regulatory letter to a crop-duster pilot, who workers say accidentally sprayed them with a fungicide. Amid national growth, Connecticut’s construction workforce down

In Connecticut, the construction industry faces an aging workforce and tight labor markets. According to a new report, as the workforce grew nationally, Greater Hartford’s construction industry lost 1,600 jobs between September 2018 and September 2019, a one-year reduction of 8 percent. New York roofing contractor fined $116K for willful citations

Fed-OSHA has fined a Stanley, New York-based roofing contractor more than $116,000, for citations including two classified as willful, for allegedly exposing employees to falls at a local worksite. The agency says it previously cited the company for fall-related violations in 2015 and 2016 at worksites in Geneva and Newark, New York. Legal Newsline

Texas: Traveling summit brings safety information to Las Colinas businesses

Texas has led the nation in the total number of on-the-job fatalities every year since 2009. The situation is preventable with better training and resources, more than 300 businesspeople from across North Texas were told at a recent safety summit in Las Colinas.
