An Eau Claire, Wisconsin company has settled Fed-OSHA citations that include failing to have warning signs or guarding, after an employee was fatally trapped by his neck in heavy machinery and crushed last October. A recommended fine of more than $21,000 was reduced to around $15,000, and the company agreed to correct the safety issues. WQOW
Pennsylvania may extend federal protections to public sector employees
Pennsylvania lawmakers for decades have tried to extend federal health and safety protections to teachers, sanitation workers and other public sector employees in the state, but the proposed measures have not made it through the legislature. Employee delivering diesel fuel killed in accident at South Carolina construction site
A man delivering diesel fuel was killed in an accident at a Clover, South Carolina construction site last Wednesday. He reportedly was trying to fix an issue with his truck when he was pulled under it and suffered fatal injuries. South Carolina OSHA is investigating. WSOC

Colorado construction workers recount deadly 2021 trench collapse
Construction workers who experienced a trench collapse that killed a 20-year-old fellow employee last November near Breckenridge, Colorado, say they did not receive proper training, and had safety concerns before the incident.
