Flash fire at Chicago gas station severely injures worker

Wisconsin lumber company fined $348K following fatal conveyor incident
Fed-OSHA has cited a northern Wisconsin lumber company $348,000 for 15 alleged violations, following inspections after a 30-year-old worker was caught in a bark conveyor belt and killed in late January. The agency charges the sawmill willfully failed to implement energy-control procedures and to ensure that the conveyor was properly guarded to prevent workers from contact with moving parts. Two South Carolina highway maintenance workers fatally struck by truck
Fed-OSHA is investigating a crash Thursday that killed two South Carolina Department of Transportation workers. According to law enforcement, a truck struck two cars that were sitting in traffic, then struck the two highway workers who were patching a pothole at the time. Work suspended at Boston worksite where falling debris severely injured passerby
On Friday, one day after a woman walking near a construction site in Boston’s North End was severely injured by a falling metal railing, city officials shut down the worksite and issued stop-work orders to six other sites where the contractor is supervising work. Additionally, officials issued a stop-work order Friday to a construction site outside TD Garden where steel beams fell from a crane the day before, damaging a truck but causing no injuries. Michigan elementary school teachers raise air quality concerns
Some elementary school teachers in Vicksburg, Michigan say district officials have not adequately addressed their concerns that air quality in the building is causing health problems including including reproductive issues, strokes and migraines. The teachers have compiled a binder of documentation of their medical issues, photographs depicting moldy insulation panels, stained carpeting and visible signs of water damage in the ceiling tiles.
