Six injured in Atlanta parking deck collapse

A section of concrete on a parking deck under construction in Atlanta partially collapsed on Friday, injuring six employees, according to an Atlanta Fire Rescue deputy chief. Video from news outlets showed one employee being strapped into a basket next to the collapsed section. Fed-OSHA fines meat processor for outbreak at South Dakota plant

Fed-OSHA has fined the Smithfield Packaged Meats Corporation more than $13,000 in connection with an outbreak in April at a plant in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in which at least 1,294 employees allegedly contracted COVID-19. Fed-OSHA compliance officer charged with conspiracy to extort contractor

Two New Jersey men, a compliance safety and health officer with Fed-OSHA and his brother, have been charged with conspiring to extort $6,000 in cash from a general contractor by telling the contractor he needed to obtain OSHA training certificates with a specific vendor or he would be subject to exorbitant fines and possible arrest.
