OSHA Review Panel Nomination Sent to Senate

Clock Ticking on Sole Remaining OSHRC Commissioner as Nominee Sent to Senate

  • The nomination of Jonathan Snare to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission was sent to the Senate on Monday.
  • That comes as the clock ticks down on the sole remaining commissioner, chair Cynthia Attwood, whose term is set to expire at the end of April.
  • Snare was appointed as deputy solicitor of labor earlier this month.
  • The OSHRC has lacked a quorum for almost two years, making it unable to decide cases where an employer or the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration disagrees with a decision by an OSHRC administrative law judge.
