- Illinois’ Miller Building Systems has been cited by OSHA for four willful violations and faces $354,912 in proposed penalties for repeatedly exposing workers to deadly fall hazards.
- These are the latest of 17 fall-related citations since 2019, including seven citations in 2023 alone. The company is contesting the 2023 citations.
- In the four latest citations, workers were seen standing, climbing and walking on trusses and top plates without proper fall protection, sometimes at heights exceeding 18 feet. When fall protection was used, it was often improperly secured, rendering it ineffective.

North Dakota Ranks as Most-Dangerous for Construction Workers: Study
- Construction workers are most at risk of being killed on the job in North Dakota, according to a study produced by Georgia personal injury law firm Jones & Swanson, based on its analysis of federal data for 2022.
- The state had 22 fatal injuries per 100,000 workers, followed by Louisiana, with 21.6.
